THE BEGINNING:
The Mad Scramble was born in 1988 when Mr.steve, Tex and Alex joined together with just one wish: to play music! Mr.Steve: Gullible, but enthusiastic, a hyperactive polyinstrumentalist and green singin' talent, will be the bass player and lead singer. Tex: creative but incredibly lazy, a budding guitar player but extraordinarily musically knowledgeable, was hungry for "live" sounds. Alex: doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, shy, even too genuine, but incredibly impetuous and creative with everything that can be beaten.
Dedicating first sessions to R&R classics (Eddie Cochran's "C'mon Ev'rybody" was the first song), the main target was having a feeling with the crowd; so, still rehearsin' in Mr.Steve's basement, here are some gigs of the band:
1989: a basement in an under-construction building , a cafeteria in front of few friends and Mr.Steve's High School gym for a bigger crowd.
1990: a ballroom (no charge), a friend playin' keyborads, a larger repertory ( Beatles and italian classics!!!); anyway, we were having fun!
1991: Mr.Steve goes into a naval academy where he grows, also musically (here he will write his first song, "I Don't Care About").They expand and start introducing rock classics (Clash, the Who, CreamÉ). They got their first paying gig (drinks!) in a pub: we fondly remember Mr.Tex's smokin' amp while playin' "Smoke on the Water".
1992: another guitar player (let's say more "solo") joins the band and things seem to work, but in fact the ambitions of the three founders were bigger and so rock and blues classics were a good, but not a totally satisfiing repertory (Hendrix is better listened to!)
Here's the end of the "beginners era" of the band; there's more to come!
The Mad Scramble began in 1998 with just one wish:... to play music! Dedicating their first sessions to R&B Classics and doing so the main target was having a great feeling with the crowd.
The sound coming out from phat drums and percussions, latin jazzy piano and hammond, funky guitars, soul and psycadelic horns, pumping bass and groovy vocals give the band a combination of different styles which make the music so particular.
Thanks to this fusion and involving mix of different moods, the band hit the raod all over europe:

SIENA (Italy): Fortezza
